Overview

PhotoRocket has a firm commitment to safeguarding the privacy of our customers. This page will inform you about our information gathering and dissemination practices for the photorocket.com web site (the "PhotoRocket Site") and our related software downloads ("Software"). Other sites maintained by third party partners are governed by a separate privacy statement. If you have questions or concerns regarding this statement, you should contact privacy@photorocket.com.

Your Photos/Address Book

PhotoRocket is committed to providing you with a safe and private environment to share and print your photos, as described in this privacy policy. All of your photos are password protected and are not visible to others unless you explicitly share them. To share photos, right click on the desired image. The PhotoRocket client software will open, where you may enter the email address(es) of your intended recipient(s), and click on the "Share" button in the PhotoRocket client. To notify your recipients that they have received photos from you, PhotoRocket will send an email to your recipient(s) containing a link to the photos you’ve shared. Please note that your recipients can then forward that email containing the link to the photos you’ve shared to other parties, if they choose. Share only with those you trust. PhotoRocket may periodically send other communications to those with whom photos have been shared. Otherwise, the email addresses of your photo recipients will be considered your personal information and accordingly, except as described in this privacy policy or as otherwise agreed by you, PhotoRocket will not disclose them to any third party.

Your Personal Information

PhotoRocket uses your personal information to conduct business with you, to develop, deliver, and improve its products and services, and to contact you as described in this privacy policy. Your personally identifiable information will not be rented, sold or shared with any third party, except as described in this privacy statement or as otherwise agreed by you. PhotoRocket may disclose personal information it has collected from any user of the PhotoRocket Site and/or content any user has made available on the PhotoRocket Site when it believes in good faith that the law or legal process requires it, or when it believes doing so is necessary to enforce its agreements or to protect the rights or property of PhotoRocket or others.

PhotoRocket may change this privacy policy without notice from time to time. Please visit this page often for updates and changes. Regardless of later changes or updates, PhotoRocket will not use your information in a new way without first providing you with an opportunity to opt-out.

How We Collect and Use Information You Explicitly Provide

In order to register as a user with the PhotoRocket Site, you will be asked to provide certain personally identifiable information to us, such as your name and email address. To place orders for prints or other products through our third party partners, we will also ask you to provide personally identifiable information such as email and mailing addresses, phone number, and a credit card number and expiration date.

We use non-personal information (i.e., aggregated information and other information that does not include personally identifiable data) to make improvements on our site, offer new products, customize your experience on the PhotoRocket Site and for marketing & promotional purposes. We also may disclose this non-personally identifiable data to third parties.

How We Collect and Use Information Not Explicitly Provided By You

Cookies, Tracking Images and Analytics Data Collection
We use cookies, tracking images (i.e., invisible GIFs), and third-party analytics software to track users of the PhotoRocket Site. For example, when visiting the PhotoRocket Site, we assign you a unique User ID and store it on your computer in the form of a cookie (unless your browser's cookie support has been disabled). Through the use of cookies and User IDs, we are able to optimize the performance and functionality of our site, and to present you with relevant content. If you are uncomfortable with the idea of your information being stored in cookies, we recommend disabling cookie support in your browser, though please understand this will heavily limit the performance and functionality of the PhotoRocket Site. Your browser documentation will provide specific procedures for disabling cookie support.

IP Addresses
We collect and store IP addresses from users on the PhotoRocket Site and may use this data in aggregate for broad geographic and demographic research. IP addresses are not matched to specific users.

Client Usage Statistics
The PhotoRocket client software collects usage data and relays it to PhotoRocket. We use this data to make periodic software enhancements. This usage data may contain personally identifiable information, but it is not shared with third parties.

Minors

The PhotoRocket Site is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with personal information without their consent, he or she should contact us at privacy@photorocket.com. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete such information from our files.

International Users

The PhotoRocket Site is hosted in the United States. If you use the PhotoRocket Site or the PhotoRocket client software from the European Union, or any other region with laws governing data collection and use that may differ from U.S. law, please note that you are transferring your personal data to the United States. The United States does not have the same data protection laws as the European Union and other regions. By providing personal information under this privacy policy, you consent to the use of personal information in accordance with this privacy policy and the transfer of your personal information to the United States.

Information Sharing

Third Party Service Providers

We may share your personally identifiable information with those companies that assist us in providing our service to you. For example, we offer certain products, such as printed photos and merchandise through third party fulfillment partners on the PhotoRocket Site. Your personally identifiable information is transmitted to these partners (including credit card information) to allow those partners to fulfill your order. Use of this information will be governed by the third party partner’s privacy and security policies.

We may also share personally identifiable information (not including credit card information) with third parties that assist us with the administration of our outbound emails, customer support, site analytics, or other services performed on our behalf.

Your Copyrights

PhotoRocket respects the intellectual property rights of others. PhotoRocket claims no ownership rights in any image contained in any of your photo albums and will not share your images unless instructed by you or otherwise required by law. For more information, see our Terms of Service.

Opting-Out, Updates and Security

Choice/Opt-Out

PhotoRocket provides you with the opportunity to opt-out of receiving emails and other communications from us, excluding email concerning your account and other administrative messages. To discontinue your receipt of such emails and communications, you can do so by clicking the ‘unsubscribe’ link in any marketing or promotional emails you receive or you can send an email with your request to support@photorocket.com.

Correct/Update

If you want to review or change any information you previously provided to us, please go to the "Account Settings" portion of the "My Account" section of the PhotoRocket Site or you can send an email with your request to support@photorocket.com.

Security

We have implemented security measures, including administrative, physical, and technical measures, to protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of personal information that we collect online. Web security and security procedures are reviewed and may be updated on a regular basis to help ensure strong data protection. By default, all orders placed through our third party product fulfillment partner are done on a secure server that encrypts all financial information through SSL.
